Get Involved at Touched by Cancer 2011

Posted in Local Events @ Sep 12th 2011 11:38am - By Administrator

In Australia 2,700 men die from prostate cancer each year, a higher mortality rate than breast cancer. On 25 September 2011, Aruba Surf Resort invites guests and visitors take make their holidays worthwhile by taking part in the event, Touched By Cancer Carnival.

The Touched By Cancer (TBC) is a one day mixed touch carnival that is designed to get anyone and everyone involved in touch football, whether they are looking for social, competitive, open, senior or junior games. The goal of the carnival is to promote awareness and raise funds in support of the Gold Coast Prostate Cancer Support and Network Group.

Last year, Touched by Cancer raised over $9,000. Organisers say they hope the event this year can attract as many teams and raffle prize donations as possible. Guests at our Gold Coast budget accommodation can participate in the competitive and social open divisions, an over 35's and an over 45's seniors division as well as three junior and a special needs division. After sweating it out on touch football for a cause, guests can simply soak up the contagiously laidback beachside atmosphere of our budget accommodation Broadbeach. Holidays can be much more fun and memorable when guests participate in good causes such as Touched by Cancer.
